1 Year 2 Suitcases: How To Make It Fit and Feel Fabulous

Hola amigos,

204415I’m a little ways into my yearlong adventure in Spain, so I can speak retrospectively about my packing decisions, right? I honestly have to say that a huge stressor in preparing for this trip was planning what to pack. Of course, like any good student, I did my research on what would be appropriate to bring, as I had limited space and a maximum weight of 50 pounds (22.68 Kg) per suitcase. It was time to go minimalist!

After consulting a few travel blogs and websites, I was able to create a pretty comprehensive packing list for a year in Europe. There are definitely many resources available online for making a decent checklist, but I found that a lot of them were geared towards men, or just played it safe with unoffensive outfit choices.

That’s why I’m here to give you some outfit inspiration, or at least a list of what I packed, myself…

Disclosure: I am neither a travel nor fashion expert.

I’ve divided the list into items categorized by type of clothing (or “ropa” as we say here in Spain). For anyone thinking of taking time abroad, or simply vacationing, I hope this can be a helpful reference.

Packing Tips:

1. Roll clothes instead of folding them!

 2.  Pack socks last, they fit into small crevices!

3.  Pack one outfit in your carry-on incase you spill a latte on your shirt or your luggage gets lost!
